FEATURED FISHING PHOTO | | Featured Fishing Photo: A 912lb Bluefin Tuna landed with Bruce Bros. Charters.

Prince Edward Island, Canada.
PEI Bluefin Tuna fishing on the clear waters off the North shore of Prince Edward Island is a tuna fishing experience to be treasured for a lifetime. These giant bluefins concentrate off the homeport of our twin boats "White Water" and "The Tuna Clipper" every summer and fall where anglers from around the world come to test themselves against the giant bluefin tuna, one of the fastest and most powerful fish in the sea. The Bruce Brothers have fishing in their blood and learned the tricks of catching the PEI bluefin tuna from their father, you could say they grew up on the water and have a combined 37 years experience as Captains of their own vessels.
The boats are typical of the safe and trusted design used by thousands of Island fishermen who make their livings from catching the lobster, crab, mackeral, cod and tuna that thrive in the cold, clean waters surrounding Prince Edward Island.

Big Bank has been consistent for good numbers of small to medium sized Chinook and also good amounts of halibut. The Rat’s Nose to the east of the Egg is where most boats have been fishing. The inshore fishery has been pretty consistent for larger Chinook and we expect the inshore fishing will be good through early September. It will mostly likely really pick up as mid-August comes since the Port Alberni fish will start coming up the shoreline. We expect some pretty good bites to start here.

The inshore fishery has also had some good bites, especially early in the morning for larger Chinook. We have also been fishing with live squid, which is something that happened in 2014 and we have been waiting a while for it to come back. The squid seem to be late this year, which we hope means that we will get a good fishery there for a while.
We have been seeing a few whales the past few days. There have been some Transient ... View Topic Fishing Report: Ucluelet, B.C. July 10, 2017 SalmonEye said: Big Bank has had some decent bites this past week near the Rat’s Nose and South- East on the Egg. Barkley Sound had some good bites earlier in the week, though the fish were moving around from day to day, so it was a bit of a guessing game of where they would be. There have been some decent fish being taken in close to shore during both morning and afternoon trips. The bite has not been extremely fast, but the Chinook are mostly in the 12 to 25lb range with a couple around 30 lbs taken. Offshore small spoons, needle fish and cuddlefish hutchies are working. Inshore #3 Kingfisher spoons from ...
